IDCARE Appoints New Chief Executive Officer and Key Board Positions

The IDCARE Board announced today the appointment of Ms Charlotte Davidson as IDCARE's new Group Chief Executive Officer. Charlotte joins IDCARE after the Board and IDCARE founder, Professor David Lacey, agreed that now was the right time for renewal and change.

“It’s been an amazing experience working with such talented people over the last decade and witnessing firsthand the incredible work IDCARE does for our communities across Australia, New Zealand and Pacific. It’s the right time for renewal and a fantastic opportunity for Charlotte to join IDCARE and make a great difference” said David.

Charlotte has agreed to join IDCARE as its interim Group Chief Executive whilst the Board works with an executive search firm for a permanent replacement over the remainder of 2026.

“I’m excited to be joining an organisation with such a critical mission, assisting tens of thousands of people a year” Charlotte said.

Charlotte has over 20 years' experience across the Australian and NSW governments, including 12 years in cyber security and cybercrime intelligence. Charlotte was a founding member and senior executive with the central NSW government cyber function, Cyber Security NSW, providing services across NSW government and local councils, and leading the state’s cyber security strategy and policy. Charlotte was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2020 to undertake international research on cyber security awareness. She completed an Executive Master of Public Administration through the Australian New Zealand School of Government in 2022.

The IDCARE Group Board is also adding to its Board, with the appointment of Ms Samantha Gavel, Professor Brenda Wiederhold and Professor Jerry Parwada, joining Ms Olga Ganopolsky and Ms Delia Rickard PSM. Samantha is the former New South Wales Privacy Commissioner and has enormous experience across Government in leadership, governance and statutory management roles. Brenda is an international expert in cyberpsychology and brings to the IDCARE Group board considerable professional expertise in supporting individuals in crisis and leading not-for-profit entities across jurisdictions. Jerry complements the Board’s experience in advancing expertise in corporate finance, management and accountabilities.

“The IDCARE Group will continue to be served by an exceptional Board. I’ve benefited enormously from my engagement with such a talented Board over the journey and am excited about the future for IDCARE and the communities served. My sincere thanks to the staff, volunteers, and Board, past and present, that have all contributed to make IDCARE what it is today” said outgoing founder and Group Chief Executive Officer Professor David Lacey.
