Check your email accounts to ensure they are secure. Specifically check there are no ‘unknown’ email addresses attached to your account.

Gmail Tips
  • Log into your Gmail account through the browser.
  • Select the cog in the top right-hand corner of the account:
  • Click‘settings’
  • Click ‘Filters and blocked addresses’
  1. Check through all filters for anything suspicious. Most people will not have any filters. If someone has had access to your email account, you will specifically be looking for filters associated with ‘banking’ reset codes’ etc
  • Click ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’
  1. Under ‘forwarding’ check there are no unknown forwarding email addresses associated with the account. If there are, please remove them.
  • Click ‘Accounts and Import’
  1. Change your password – make it different from anything you’ve used before.
Google Account
  • While you are still logged into your Gmail account, please click on the icon with your initial in the top right-hand corner
  • Select ‘Google Account’
  • Look in ‘Security Issues found’ by clicking‘secure account’ and check:
  1. Recent security events – change password if you have not done so already
  2. Your devices – log out of any unknown
  3. Sign-in and recovery – confirm all are correct
  • If you have not done so already, please enable the two-step verification option.
